Stucco repair, patching, and re-stucco in the South Bay, Los Angeles. Crack repair, water-damage remediation, and full re-coats. Paragon Home Services serves Redondo Beach, Torrance, Manhattan Beach, and all South Bay cities.
Diagnose first. Patch second. Match the texture and color.
Stucco cracks and stains are usually a symptom, not a defect — failing flashing, missing weep screed, settlement, or trapped moisture from a leak above. Paragon diagnoses the cause first, then repairs the stucco with a properly bonded patch, matched texture, and color-coat blend. We handle hairline crack repair, full water-damaged section replacement, and complete re-stucco projects with three-coat application.
II.WHY IT MATTERS
What Stucco Cracks Are Telling You
Hairline vs Structural
Hairline cracks under 1/16 inch are normal expansion-and-contraction signs and patch easily with elastomeric crack filler and a color coat. Cracks wider than 1/8 inch, cracks that follow window or door corners diagonally, or cracks that step along masonry joints can indicate settlement, framing movement, or seismic stress and need investigation before cosmetic repair.
Water Stains Mean Active Leak
Brown drip marks, efflorescence (white powder), or bubbling stucco below windows or roof junctions almost always mean water is getting behind the stucco — usually from a failed window flashing, missing kickout flashing at a roof-wall intersection, or a failed parapet cap. Patching the stucco without fixing the leak source guarantees the failure repeats.
Texture and Color Match
South Bay homes typically use a sand finish, dash finish, or smooth Santa Barbara finish. Matching the existing texture and color is the difference between a repair you can see and one you can't. We blend the color coat across natural break lines (corners, windows) and feather the texture so the repair is invisible at typical viewing distance.
III.PROCESS
Our Stucco Repair Process
01Diagnostic walk-through — we identify the root cause of the crack or damage and document any related water intrusion or framing issues.
02Scope and proposal — written description of the repair (crack only vs section replacement vs full re-stucco), the upstream fix if needed, and the texture/color match plan.
03Cause repair — flashing, weep, parapet, or kickout fix performed before any stucco work.
04Stucco prep — damaged stucco cut back to sound material, lath inspected and replaced where corroded, weep screed verified.
05Three-coat or patch application — scratch coat, brown coat, and color coat (full re-stucco) or matching patch and color blend (repair).
06Color coat and texture blend — finish coat matched to existing color and texture, blended at break lines.
07Final walkthrough and warranty — workmanship warranty documented, including the underlying-cause fix.

V.FAQ
Stucco — Frequently Asked Questions
Can you match my existing stucco texture and color?
Most of the time, yes. Sand and dash finishes match well with an experienced applicator. Smooth Santa Barbara finishes are the hardest to match invisibly because any imperfection telegraphs. When a perfect match is unrealistic, we recommend extending the color coat to the next natural break line so the repair is invisible at distance.
Why do my stucco cracks keep coming back?
Almost always because the underlying cause — a failed flashing, settlement, or framing movement — was never fixed. Stucco moves with the wall behind it. If the wall is moving, the crack will reopen no matter how good the patch is. We diagnose and fix the cause before patching.
How long does a re-stucco project take?
A full three-coat re-stucco on a typical South Bay single-story home runs 2–3 weeks, with cure time between coats. A partial repair (one wall, water damage) is typically 4–7 days. We schedule around weather since the marine layer and rain affect cure quality.
Is stucco repair a job I can do myself?
Cosmetic crack-filling kits work for hairline cracks if you accept a visible repair. For anything beyond that — water staining, structural cracks, missing weep screed, or visible lath — the diagnostic and prep work is what determines whether the repair lasts. Most DIY stucco repairs fail within 12–18 months for the same reason the original failed.
VI.THE PARAGON DIFFERENCE
The Work
Crack repair, water-damaged section replacement, full re-stucco, and color-coat finishing.
The Paragon Difference
We trace cracks back to the underlying cause — flashing, settlement, or weep issues — instead of cosmetically patching a problem that comes back in a year.
