Asbestos-Safe Protocol. Contained Workspace. Modern Flat Finish.
South Bay homes built between 1950 and 1978 frequently contain asbestos in their popcorn ceiling texture. Removal without proper containment disperses asbestos fibers throughout the structure. Paragon's crew operates under full containment protocol: negative air pressure, HEPA filtration, proper PPE, and certified hazardous materials disposal. After removal, we re-skim the ceiling to a Level 5 smooth finish.
Our Ceiling Mitigation Protocol
- 01Asbestos pre-test — a certified lab sample is pulled before any work begins. If positive, we proceed under full asbestos abatement protocol.
- 02Full workspace containment — plastic sheeting sealed at every opening, negative air pressure with HEPA filtration, and full PPE for all crew members.
- 03Wet scrape and removal — the ceiling is wetted to bind particles, then the texture is carefully scraped and collected. No dry scraping.
- 04Hazardous materials disposal — all waste is bagged in certified containers and disposed through a licensed hazardous waste carrier.
- 05Skim coat and Level 5 finish — once the substrate is clean and dry, we apply a two-coat skim to deliver a modern flat ceiling ready for paint.
The Work
Complete, safe removal of outdated popcorn texturing and asbestos ceiling materials.
The Paragon Difference
